Comments: I did well with the first mile or so. After about one mile, I started having pain from my right hip flexer. I was not able to run for long distances after that point. I am not sure if this was because I didn't/don't stretch enough or if it is something with my gait. What would you do differently?: Well first I would say I needed to train more then I did for this race. I need to also start using Core Performance as well. ![]() Post race
Warm down: I walked around a little at the finish to cool down, I also had a half a beagle with peanut-butter. That was about all I did for a cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: I would have to say that what limited my ability to perform would be myself. I have been in a funk the last few weeks, and not been training anywhere near where I need to be training. I think before this I had all of 42 minutes of about 2.44 miles of running all of this current year. That is no where near enough miles for a 5k. Last updated: 2006-02-27 12:00 AM

I got up at 6:30 am, had some whole grain cereal for breakfast. I left about 8:00 am and arrived with plenty of time to register. I had some water before the race started, also used the water to get my HRM to read.
I tried to do a little bit of stretching, but not enough. I tried to stretch my hamstring and Achilles tendons.
