Comments:

Very hot pool. Got a nose full of water on the first flip turn. I felt myself going anaerobic, so I tried to slow a little. I abandoned flip turns half way through the swim due to the crowded conditions and fatigue.

What would you do differently?:

Pace myself better. I went out too fast in the swim.

Good T1, although I did struggle a bit getting my socks over my wet feet.

Comments:

I lost my sunglasses on the bike course. When I put them on in T1, they immediately started to fog so I stuck them in my helmet. Once I got onto the open road and into my aero position, CLUNK, into the road my sunglasses fell. One of the kind volunteers found them and I got them back after the race. Volunteers rock!!!!

What would you do differently?:

Not lose my sunglasses.

This is a PB for me on the 5K. I'm just not an efficient runner. Lots of gasping and sinus drainage made running near me a memorable experience.

What would you do differently?:

Breathe better, run faster.

Stretching and cheering for my hubby and friends also doing the race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Running speed skils.

Event comments:

This was my first tri of the season. I started the race wanting to finish in 1:10. I finished in 1:07:17, so I am incredibly happy. I felt awesome on the bike. I didn't feel too bad on the run. I just wish the running fairy would visit me and grant me more speed.
