Subject: NFL rule question
Why, in regulation, if you score a game winning TD is the team obliged to kick an extra point Ben if the 6 decides the score? The Colts won yesterday with no time remaining, yet neede to kick the extra point to complete the play. Same situation when the Seabags "beat" the Packers on that horrible call; both teams had to come out for the extra point 10 minutes after Golden Tate "caught" the game winning TD?

Yet, in overtime, the 6 points alone is enough to end the game. You score 6; game over.

I don't understand...

Dem is da rulz!

Perhaps the overtime doesn't require it because they state at certain times of overtime now, once a team scores, the game is over by rule?  In regulation, there is no such rule.

What happened Pitt, was a team layin' 6 points and you needed them to win by a touchdown?

Nah; no longer a betting man. I once saw my pick 6 sheet on the news (of course the week I had it right) for a story about a bust and realized that "my guy" was a detriment in my life.

I just find it curious. I think point differential is probably the 9th tie breaker in playoff scenario, so that's probably why. But why not overtime too?
