Subject: Bike interval units question

In the training plans it states Bike interval 20x0.5' Its a total of 20 minute interval period for a distance of 9 miles. It just wont compute. What is the 0.5' Thanks for any help....

Set #1 20m / 6.00 miles
VO2 Max
Intervals: 20x0.5' on 0.5' rest
Perform these intervals at a maximum effort that you can sustain for the interval duration. Do your best to maintain a cadence higher than 90 rpms.

What you do is 20 intervals.  30 seconds max effort THEN 30 seconds rest (easy spinning) - this is one minute total.  Do this 20 times so it will be 20 minutes total.
