For those looking to improve your swimming, I highly recommend investing in appropriate hand paddles. You'll find yourself with such a great feel of the water and the ability to work out the inefficient nuances you may have in your technique. However, be advised not to use them in more then 1/2 of your water time in any practice.

Got a set of catalysts for X-mas and oh my they have slowed me a bit ... getting used to them and all. I have tried one of the suggested workouts that came with them. I am amazed at how tired my back has been after using them and I only use them for a fifth of my work out - can't even begin to imagine a half :-O ! Any suggestions on workouts with them? Thanks,
Vanessa

the most important aspect of hand paddles is increasing one's "feel" of the water, which i'm sure you experience once you immediately remove them.

i don't use them in any specific set. personally, i swim long and slow with them at times, focusing on the "catch-up" drill and REACHING with each arm.
