Subject: Skip Simulation?
This Friday the 6th of July my planned calendar shows a Race Simulation block with high yards/bike time and suggested hard effort.

I have a real triathlon - my B race for the year.

Should I simply continue with the race simulation? Do I need to adjust at all to ensure I don't completely bonk during my B race?

Thanks for your suggestions.

I think that the race simulation is far enough away ~8 days you should be fine.  Although I would do the swim separate from the bike/run brick.  Maybe the swim in the morning, recover/eat and the bike/run at night.  Cut down the bike to 1-1.5 hours if you feel it's too much...but still do the 20' run brick...although 15minutes will do the job too.

The following week, keep everything as-is.  A few options days before the race: keep Thursday off but shorten the swim to about 15' and the bike to 30'-make sure everything is in good order on the bike and to keep you loosened up.

OR reverse this and take Friday off and do the short swim and bike Thursday.

Don't make up your Saturday scheduled workout.  Since it's a B race, keep it at training pace, not an all-out race pace.

For the 15th, make it a recovery swim.  Eliminate any hard effort sets or just swim easily for 20-30minutes.  The 16th looks ok, you can shorten the run if you feel you need to for recovery.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'll give it a whirl.
