Subject: First Run-Bike
I am headin out todo my first run, followed by a bike...

I'm going to do 3 miles run and 10 miles on the bike...

I was curious though, what is considered a good time on the bike? I like to try and stay between 7-8 minutes per mile for running... what type of benchmark would this be equivalent too for the bike.

Thanks

3 minutes per mile is 20 mph. That's kind of a benchmark. If you can average over that during a tri you're doing pretty good. 4 minutes per mile is 15mph. 3:30 pre mile is just over 17 mph. 2:30 per mile is 24 mph. 2:24 per mile is 25 mph. That's a very good time for just a one hour bike Time trial.

It depends: flat, hilly?
Usually in sprint/olympic races the top races average about anywhere between 21-24mph depending on the terrain.

Does it help?
