In spreadsheet terms, my goal is to do 13 run workouts in September.

Specifically, my goal is this…
Sept 1-4: Do week 2 workout on Wednesday and week 3 workout on Friday.
Sept 5-11: Do week 4 on M/W/F.
Sept 12-18: Do week 5 on M/W/F.
Sept 19-25: Do week 6 on M/W/F.
Sept 26-30: Do the week 7 work out on Monday and Wednesday.

 

So far, I am meeting my goals. The first week went exactly as scripted. Monday the 6th I was out doing the week 4 workout when lightning approached. Cut the route short and only did 2 of the runs, but the rain and increasing wind told me I made the right decision. As I will be doing week 4 again on Wed and Fri, I say that I am “consciously training for a 5K later this fall using the coolrunning.com Couch to 5K plan.”

Hi Kids - I've been busy with work and such so I didn't get a chance to post earlier.  I have decided, since I don't seem to be able to focus - that my focus will be a calorie burn.  considering my trial schedule and other activities, it is fairly lofty, and I only started last night!  sorry about that.  I am hoping to do a Duathlon on 9/25 (2 days before my anniversary -- 7 years, thankyouverymuch) which is a 2/20/2.  I used to do brick workouts regularly, but haven't for awhile so I am concerned.  All else fails, there is another in October.  I love to ride - I'm just not fast.  (not a fast runner either, anymore - distance training seemed to ruin that)

Well, enough babbling - back to work. 

ps - if I need to change my goal as it is inappropriate, please let me know.

Hello again! I woke up with the nastiest sinus headache. After some Sudafed, some acetaminophen, some coffee, and some time, I was feeling better... but late for work. Since I was late for work anyway, I decided to run from home, then shower, then dress and go to work. Normally I would have run on my lunch hour.

Important point: I ran today! No excuses.

had intentions of doing a good workout last night - but I got home and changed and my wife tells me supper is ready in 15 minutes.  Well, that won't work, so eat and workout later.  Planned was a 2 mile run and then bike. 

Run went well - a little slower than I wanted - but I will get that speed up.  By the time I got on the bike - it was really dark - I live in the boonies - no streetlights - so I had to watch speed (due to headlamp not really showing the way)  Did get a decent calorie burn though. 

I've got a lot of catching up to do. 

I'm thinking on Sat. I may do a 9 mile run followed by a 11 mile bike.  (My own little tribute)  Anyone else doing anything special for "Patriot Day"?

Hey Yanti.  The spreadsheet is a little confused.  My percentage should be equal to the percentage of the month since I'm doing a session every day.  Why is it different?  Can you check it out?

I've been doing good with running at least 1 mile every day!  I'm starting to feel like it is a habit that I can continue for the long-term.

Here I am. Here I am.  Sorry for the slow start, but I don't usually let my teams down (completely).  I do realize I have taken "non-chatty" to a new level. 

I have put my goal and the miles completed on the spreadsheet.  The total is a little low, but that's because of the Labor Day Weekend.  I need help getting the formula for percent completed. 

My focus is biking.  My original thought of 450 miles seems unlikely so I have changed it to 300.  I've gotten in about 36 miles so far this month, so I am behind, but I have a long ride planned for Tuesday and then each of the remaining weekends in September.  Assuming I get in between 60-100 miles on each of those rides (plus the other shorter rides), my 300 miles seems doable. 

Now I am going to read all the posts and get caught up on what everyone else is doing.

I just updated the sheet.  Wow.  I am really the slacker in this group.  I'm sorry.  I'll see if I can get a few bricks in.  Those are usually good 1000 cal. plus burns.  need to do them anyway if I am going to be competitive in this Duathlon coming up.

But I haven't missed a single one of my C25K workouts! Whoo-hoo! Happy Dance! I even did the run for 20 minutes straight one today!
