Subject: RE: swimmer's shoulderHello. Yup, I've dealth with it in the past. A couple of suggestions: 1. Get a copy of The Seven Minute Rotator Cuff. It's a great book that'll move you from rehab to maintenance and beyond. Start out *slow.* I did eeny teeny weights at first--if any--and still don't do much in the weight category as there are many small muscles in the rotator cuff. 2. I'd also get a copy of Total Immersion. It helps you to improve swimming skills where you more of your "core" vs. shoulders. I injured my shoulder due to overuse and improper fly--this was about ten years ago. I've remained injury free (knock wood) but it took over six months to be healed--shoulders take time. You may need a few months of nothing before you start in with anything. You will heal!! |
