Subject: Question on Wheelset for IMKY
Plan was to just race with my stock wheelset on my K-Factor but as the day comes near I thought it would be cool to look cool and possibly go a little faster with "Race Wheels"

I've got the chance to rent either a Zipp disc/404 combo that are clinchers or a 808/404 tubular combo.

Here is the problem. I'd prefer the 808/404 but I'm not familuar with tubulars and have no clue what to do if I have a flat, etc.

the disc/404 are clinchers but I've never ridden a disc and don't think I should attempt that w/o practice for my first IM.

Should I just forgo the coolness and mental advantage and stick with what I know or are tubulars no biggie?

Either way I'll still have the fastness of shaving my legs for the first time going for me.

don't concern yourself with all the hoopla.  this is your first IM...just get 'er done.

If you're in the 25-29 group I think you should go for the tubulars and don't worry about brining an extra either. Ok, really, I think you definitely should stick with clinchers if that's all you know. Also, if it's your first IM just enjoy the ride on your stock wheels and use the renatl money to party like a rock star at the finish line. I'll be rockin' some Bonty Selects, so I know you won't have the worst wheels there.
