Subject: Observing a Triathlon

Hello My Fellow Floridians,

I live in Palatka, Florida just south of Green Cove Spring, Orange Park area, and in between Saint Augustine, and Gainesville.

I have just started my training and plan to enter my first Triathlon July 4th 2009, down in Blue Springs. I have noticed that the Hammer Head Olympic Triathlon is coming up on the 24th of this month. I wanted to know since the one that I plan to compete in is a Spint and this is an olympic will I still benifit from going out and observing the transition area to see how they are set up, how check in works and all of that good stuff or do does everything work differently for a sprint compared to an Olympic?

Thanks for any help that you can offer, and I hope to see you out there one day.

 Thanks,

Chris

Set up's the same, although if anything, speedy transitions are more of a factor in the sprint races.

One thing to note: the HOT is held on Camp Blanding, which is a military installation and they were checking your name against a list of entrants/volunteers the last few years.  If you'd like to make sure you're allowed entry, you might consider volunteering.    I know Susan's looking for more help!  Her contact info's on the web site..

Thanks for the information I will have to see what I can do.

Are there any more that are coming up in the area that I could observe as well?

Thanks,

Chris
