Subject: Vinings Ride - Sunday, 8/17 @ 8:15/8:30am

Anyone interested in doing the Atlanta Cycling Vinings route on Sunday morning? It is 22 miles and leaves from Atlanta Cycling off Northside Pkwy and goes through Buckhead and the Chastain Park area. If you want to add on miles, we can meet at the Publix off the East-West Connector near the Silver Comet and it comes out to right around 30 miles. I plan to leave my house, which is across from the Publix, around 8am so anyone wanting to meet at the Publix we can plan for 8:15am and anyone that wants to meet at Atlanta Cycling we'll be there around 8:30am.

Great ride - low traffic streets and about 2500 feet of climbing for the 22 mile route and 3000+ for the full 30.

Are you actually riding with the Atlanta cycling ride? I'm not sure they'd let me join with my tri bike cause when I asked in-store about a year ago they told me they don't let tri bikes ride unless you start after everyone else (which I do anyway) but I don't really know the route so I've always been afraid to try them out.

Nope - that ride is on Saturdays at 10am. I tried it once with BBoston88 and Swaffie and we all got dropped pretty quick   This ride is not affiliated with the store - just using their route.  The route is well marked with V's in the street where you are supposed to turn.  I've done it 4-5 times now and remember it pretty well, but occasionally I will sail past a "V" in the road and have to turn back.

Let me check with Ron about weekend schedules. If it works out I'll join you and then add on some Comet miles to hit my 60.
