Subject: S. Platte - Cherry Creek- C470 trail route?

If I rode from Highland Ranch, up the South Platte Trail, to the Cherry Creek trail, and over to CC res, is there a way to connect down to the C470 trail, heading west again?

Yep -- head south on the Cherry Creek Trail where you'll have to jump on Jordan for a bit heading south. You can then get back on the actual Cherry Creek Trail at the Cottonwood trail head (or just keep going down Jordan) which will take you to the branch-off that heads along C470 back to HR. I'm sure somebody has a nice map of this, as I know a lot of people regularly do the loop between Cherry Creek, Chatfield, and Confluence parks following that exact path.
