Subject: stowe bike routes
Does anyone know of any 20 - 30 mile bike routes up in Stowe, VT? My husband and I are heading up in a few weeks and would rather bike on our own rather than with a group. I posted in the Vt. forum but it doesn't seem to get much traffic over there.
Thanks

From the center of town, take 100 north, take a left onto Stagecoach Road, follow that up to Morrisville.  Take a right at the reservoir, go through the center and take Randolph road.  Narrower than 100, but not as traveled.  This is about 20 miles.  there are some side loops you can take off of stagecoach & Randolph to add some extra miles (and hills).  If you're coming from 108, take the road by The Stoweflake which will go past the golf course, take a right, then a quick left, Billings farm (I think) than a right, brings you right by the grocery store and past the center intersection.

1.Head east on Main St/VT-100/VT-108 toward School St
Continue to follow VT-100
1.6 mi
2.Slight left at Stagecoach Rd
6.9 mi
3.Turn right at Cadys Falls Rd
0.4 mi
4.Turn left at Bridge St
0.8 mi
5.Continue on VT-100
0.4 mi
6.Slight left at Randolph Rd
3.9 mi
7.Turn right to stay on Randolph Rd
2.8 mi
8.Slight left at Pucker St/VT-100
Continue to follow VT-100

If you like a little hill in your ride, go 108 thru Smuggler's Notch.

Google "green mountain stage race" There are course routes posted on their website. And yeah, bring your climbing legs.
