Subject: swimming question
Im training to do a sprint, but the swim is around 700m but I really havent done any type of swimming before. Im going to take some lessons this month but before I do that whats an effective training routine for me to build up endurance and distance.
My biking and running are doing great and im right where I need to be on that, but swimming im way behind. Thanks for any suggestions

Have a weekly swimming lesson - then go twice per week to practice what you learn

If this is your weekness then aim to improve once you become more compitent - look at doing longer intervals and the odd nonstop swim ... but get your style sorted by lessons and practice

I recommend lessons first.  That way you can practice what you learned (as stated above) and you are reinforcing good technique, not bad technique.  If you start swimming a lot before your lessons, you are only creating muscle memory of improper technique.  (ie: habits that are hard to break)
