Clubs for NJ/NY ocean swimmming

I get in the ocean at least 1-2x per week from June - September with a small group and there are also quite a few other informal groups as the season approaches (I'm assuming you don't mean anytime soon?!?). We usually swim between 1.5 - 2 miles at a relatively easy pace and meet in Southern Monmouth/Northern Ocean County.

That sounds great. I'm moving in Mid-End of June though. DO you start any swims earlier than that? How soon can you get in the ocean (with a wetsuit?) What is the water temp? Do you have a list of open water events for the spring time? Thanks a bunch.

Depends heavily on what kind of Spring we have and your level of tolerance to the cold. It could be as warm as 65F (+/-) in early June, but is typically in the upper 50's at that time of yr which is a little chilly. This site gives you some avg's:
