Subject: Feedback on Jack Rabbit Sports Training Programs?
Has anybody participated in one of the Jack Rabbit tri training programs? If so, do you recommend it? Comments? Experience? I only tend to train for tri's if I have a group. Thanks!

I trained with JackRabbit for the NYC Tri this year so I could get an entry to the sold-out race. I actually do not like to train with groups so if it weren't for the needed entry, I wouldn't have done it. But I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Our coach was good and the training schedule was nice to have even if you skipped the group sessions. The training intensity was very middle of the road, however, to fit with the multiple levels of fitness in the group. You need to be prepared to dial it up and down as needed for your personal goals. In the end I was thankful I had it. I was able to show up on race day knowing a large group of athletes and some of us are still in touch. It was good motivation to be training with others a couple days a week. Plus I can't say enough good things about JackRabbit in general.

I am currently enrolled in the Jackrabbit Level 1 swim program.  It meets once a week for 8 weeks.  While I am an average swimmer with limited race experience (4 sprints) the class is a little too entry level even for me.  Of the hour of time we have only 30-40min are actually swimming.  It is much less of a Triathlon Swim class and more of what you may expect from a local YMCA.  I have not tried any of their other group training but I have watched Level 2 Swim and it looks a bit more Tri focused.

I did two Level 1 swim classes. I am just starting out in competing in triathlons and I needed a lot of work on my swim mechanics. I thought the class did me a lot of good and was very happy. This class was at a Y at 14th and 1st.

I am currently signed up for level 2 on Monday nights. I like the class, but I got very busy at work and have missed the last four sessions. Also, the class is at a pool that is off Delancy Street in the lower east side. I am not crazy about the pool -- it is off the beaten path.

All in all, I liked the classes. If they offer level 2 on Friday nights, I will probably sign up for it again.
