Do you guys think it is necessary to do a HIM in the program for the Ironman. I am doing to 13 weeks to 13 hour IM and it does not have a HIM in the training program. I have done 3 already as well as 3 marathons so I do have some background into those distances. Let me know what you think. I would rather not due to the cost but will sign up if it is necessary.
I don't think it is a must do. I think it is good to do so you can practice with the logistics of dealing with race day concerns and how your body deals with them. No reason you couldn't do your own little HIM on your own to practice transitions too.
