Total Time = 1h 32m 38s
Overall Rank = 52/?
Age Group = 24-29
Age Group Rank = 12/?
Event warmup:

Walking around trying not to jump out of my skin. Talking with the other racers who were new and a tiny bit of stretching.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 400 meters
  • / 100 meters
What would you do differently?:

I think I did very well for the swim. I didn't have my HR moniter on so I have no idea how well I did time wise. I wish I knew how I did.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

This was my first transition, so I think I did okay for that. I just put on some shorts, a sports bra, my cycle shoes and socks, my helmet and was off.
What would you do differently?:

I would have left that zone bar in the transition area. I thought I would eat it, but had to stuff it in my clothes and I couldn't even think about eating it!!
Bike
  • 00m
  • 12 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Drink more!!
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

It was okay. My legs were really feeling funky after my ride. I thought they were going to give out on me. It was almost like they were numb.
What would you do differently?:

Prepare myself better for that transition.
Run
  • 00m
  • 3.9 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

I need to practice my running.
What would you do differently?:

I would have hydrated much better. I ran out of carbs and energy. I didn't drink at all and was feeling it toward the end.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I really messed up my hydration and energy intake. I was getting really thirsty and depleted toward the end. I didn't have anything to drink the whole race!! My electrolytes were off and I was hungry. I would have practiced with the energy gels and used them if I had known what I was in for.

Event comments:

It was a nice race for my first one. The activities afterward were okay. It was all in a dirt field with no where to sit. Most people were standing in the sun watching the awards. It was fine though. We stayed for about an hour afterward and then left. It was a fun time. Just remember....Drink lot's of water and practice with those energy gels. It would have given me alot more energy at the end!

Performance: Good
They put us in the pool at 15 second intervals. I got passed by two people and passed 4 people. One guy was a total jerk about passing and grabbed my leg, swam on top of me and made me have to break my stride to come up for extra air. Otherwise, most people were very respectful.
Suit: Regular swim suit
Course: Everyone swam the length of the pool and moved to the next lane. It was very easy to do!

It was a good course, except for the weaving in and out they had us doing in the parking lot. I had to slow way down for this because I am not real comfortable at tight turns on my bike yet.
Wind: Cross-winds with gusts
Course: There were headwinds and crosswinds. So, there was one quarter of the loop where the wind was on your back. Otherwise, it was hitting you from each side. It was really hard to cycle into, but my spin classes really helped prepare my legs for that. I was pretty strong through it.

I forgot to get my HR moniter off my bike handlebars so I don't know my heartrate. I think it was in the 160-170 range. Not bad. But, I am a snail runner!!
Course: Nice run throught the campus and out on a street. We did a turn around course so it was easy to navigate.

Congrats on your first Tri! My first was put on by these folks in Scottsdale and it seemed to be a good race to get your feet wet.

Keep up the training and you'll be kicking @$$ soon.

Great job on your first tri! Sounds like you learned a lot on this first one, and because of it your next one will be even better!
