Subject: 3x For Each Sport Per Week (Olympic Distance)
To prevent over training and start to enjoy the sport a bit more, I'm going to cut back training to 3x per week for swim, bike and runs. Will 3x each be enough to train for olympic races?

I've been doing bunch rides on Sundays and the group I go with goes quite fast and tires me out lots, should I go with the bunch for the 1st half and then drop off and make my own way home the 2nd half? I'll still get some decent time in but won't be so tired for the rest of the week? As other posts have said, maybe I'm going to0 hard in my intensity?

By the look of your logs, I don't think you're training hard enough.

Hard to tell without at least SOMEthing to go by.

Eh, I'd probably go with:

2x swim
3x bike
3x run

Then again swimming is easy for me... but honestly, if you put in quality distance each time you get in the pool, 2x's a week should suffice for a Oly.

So here is a typical week I'm planning.

3x swims squad for 1-1.5 hours.

3x runs (1x long and 2x medium short, building up to 1 hour 20 for the run and maybe 40 mins for the 2x shorter runs)

3x bikes (1x bunch ride, will pull out 1/2 way through, maybe 2-2.5 hours and then 2x shorter ones for 1-1.5 hours)

I'll take 2 rest days, train twice every other day except sunday with my long bike ride.

I'll do stretching after my runs and on my off days. I may go for a 30 min walk on my rest days if I feel up to it. If the bikes are too much, I'll cut the bunch ride down to 2 hours.

Does this sound good?
