I have my first sprint tri coming up in 2 weeks and I'm a little concerned about what I'm wearing. I will have a shortie wetsuit...does it make sense to wear my sports bra under my swimsuit, then put the wetsuit over both? Then for biking/running just pull off the wetsuit adn put on my tank top and shorts over the swimsuit/sports bra combo?

I have the feeling I'd be a lot less nervous if I knew it this plan makes sense.

Makes perfect sense to me.  Although putting on a shirt and shorts while wet, may prove to be a bit tricky (if not frustrating).  Have you considered a tri-top and tri shorts (or a 1 piece trisuit) and just skip putting a shirt/shorts on in T1 instead?  Will be less of a hassle and you'll definitely dry quickly on the bike.

I did think of that, but held off for several reasons. I'm still losing weight semi steadily; also not knowing if I was going to enjoy doing this, I didn't want to spend more money than I had too right now.

Good to know that I'm sightly on the right track with my planning!

Those ladies on this site who do OWS can help you more than I can, but could you wear your sportsbra, shirt, shorts (no swimsuit) under your wetsuit?  If the wetsuit is a shortie, most of you is going to get pretty wet anyway, right?  So you get out of the water, take off the wetsuit, then you're good to go....You'll dry on the bike.  Do you have to wear the wetsuit?  You must have to wear the sportsbra or you wouldn't ask (again, I don't have that problem).
I did my first tri yesterday, wore my swimsuit and tri shorts, put on a jersey for the bike/run.  No wetsuit (pool swim) and no sportsbra (small boobs) needed.
Good luck on your first and congrats on the weight loss.  Just be calm and remember you're only racing against yourself!!
