I am pretty-much a healthy-eating newbie.  How do I make a fruit-protein smoothie?  I'd like to make this for my husband and I's breakfast.  No laughter please!

I use a very basic and simple recipe -

8oz skim milk
handful of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
handful of blackberries (fresh or frozen)
4-5 strawberries - sometimes I'll throw in half a banana
1 heaping scoop of whey protein (I prefer vanilla-flavored, but will use whatever I have on hand)
A few ice cubes

Throw it all in a blender (use a good one with an ice-crushing blade) until smooth and thick. If you like a thinner consistency, either use more liquid or less ice cubes.

You can get a lot of recipes on-line and adjust to your likes/dislikes but here is my favorite:

I go heavy on the calories so be warned

8-10 oz of V8 Fusion or other 100% fruit Juice

1 Banana (frozen (unpeel before you freeze to make life easy) is preferred)

Assorted Frozen Fruits (Blue, Black, Rasp, Strawberries, Grapes) to desired thickness for smoothie

1 scoop Whey Protein

If available and I am real hungry I will also add some Real Strawberry Ice Cream.

You can add yogurt, honey, etc. for flavor also.

Others will use milk or water instead of juice.

I do similar but put in equal parts juice and milk or yogurt.

I like the peel bananas before I freeze them.

3/4 C juice and milk
1 banana
Cup of berries
Scoop of protein powder
