Does one exist?  After a 33mile ride and feeling like I just got out of a prison full of horses, I decided my next priority will be to get a new seat from my stock seat.

I looked around and seems a lot of seats are well over $100 which is a little more than I want to spend.  I would be willing to spend $150 if there is a major difference with the extra $50.

Here is a local triathlon shop and their selection.  Not digging on the $350 seat...

Then REI but I can't tell what seats are for road bikes and mountain bikes or beach cruisers.  I am digging the one with springs on the seat..

And also I think I have seen this advertised on the website but the "V-flow" or something like that.  I think that goes for $150.

Now I am a smaller clyde at 215lbs but I'm guessing the seats we demand are different than the seats of a 150lb man.

I just asked a very similar question on the gear forum regarding a comfy women's seat for a tri bike. I got two recommendations. One is for the V-Flow series you mentioned. The person who responded said go with the Plus, although the Max is the latest iteration (also more expensive). But it is hard to beat the 180 day trial period the manufacturer offers. You can return it, no questions asked, within 6 months for a refund. Seems no lose to me and worth some extra bucks. There are cheaper seats, but if you don't like them, you still own 'em.

I'm also looking at a Terry seat (Gel Butterfly tri). They make it for men and women. Less expensive. It can be had for around $100 but I am willing to spend more to buy it from a vendor who offers a 90 day trial. Same thing--it it doesn't work, it is going back. The place I found with a 90 day guarantee specializes in women's gear. If REI has the seat, you could get it there because they will always take things back if they don't work out.

Good luck! It goes without saying that I feel your pain. Probably just in different places!

Hello.
As a Clyde that has been coming down from 270 to now 215 over the past 18mon. and done 4 sprints and just completed my 1st Oly last weekend at Iron Abe, the seat thing is like finding the right running shoe...  I'm on seat no. 5 now and have found something that feels good and works for me, for the money.  I'm on a road bike saddle that is a little wider for the 'sit bones' and is rounded over less on the edges so the flex works better for me.  I've tried a seat that I really like but it runs about $175.00, so I'm holding out.  I know that this sounds more like trial and error but the best thing is try different seats, maybe your local bike shop will work with you and let you try different seats on your bike while on a trainer?  One other idea I can add is to look at your seat height, seat angle and forward/back position.  I've actually raised my seat nearly 2" and moved it forward 1" over the last 3mon. in order to establish a better ride position.  Wish you all the best.

I use the profile design tristrike without the cutout. They are making a Kona series that is supposed to be more comfy but haven't seen it anywhere yet.
