How hard would it be to get into Ironman Germany 2010. Are the European races the same as American races and hard pressed to be able to sign up. Been wanting to plan a vacation to Europe and have a friend in Spandalem Air Base and would love to mark a few things off my bucket list at once? Actually after the August race do you sign up or try to sign up the same exact day! How hard is it to get into a 2010 Ironman Europe race!

Afaik the races over here don't fill out nearly as fast as american races. Even the biggest full IM races in europe take a few weeks to sell out. Looking at http://ironman.com/events/ironman70.3there are no 70.3 2010 races full yet, american or european, so I don't think you'll have a problem.

Keep in mind the time difference, i thought about an overseas vacation/IM. Traveled to Shanghai China during my HIM training. I worked in a few runs at like 3am, had lots of trouble sleeping. I was only there a week but it was on the last there that I was finally able to sleep through the night. Not sure about anyone else, but I would need like ten days to get adjusted.

Otherwise I see a lot of open slots for the European races.

Awesome even though Monaco and Spain look like a better venue seeing an old friend at Spandalem Air Force Base, with somewhat discounted room and board for 80 % of the trip and seeing Europe. I gotta do it. Cannot wait!
