Subject: Cane Creek
I was looking at the registration info. on Cane Creek and it didn't say anything about wetsuits.  Does anyone know if it is wetsuit legal?  Thanks in advance!

No way you would need a wetsuit in middle of september in Charlotte.  The water will be PLENTY warm!

It was wetsuit legal last year but just barely.

I did wear mine, as did about half of the participants. I am of the camp that says you wear it if it is legal. I did get pretty hot / uncomfortable during the swim however.

Since the race is in late Sept., it may be legal again.

Thanks for the info. 

According to USAT rules: "USAT has established a set criteria for wetsuit usage. Wetsuits are legal in USAT sanctioned races if the water temperature is 78 degrees or lower. If the water temperature is between 79-83 degrees, you may wear a wetsuit, however, you will not be eligible to win an award." 

So, no way I will win an award and if the water is 83 degrees or below I'm good to wear one?
