There was a previous thread about Synvisc One Knee Injections but my ortho has recommended Hyalgan injections. I believe that they are similar. Does anyone have experience with Hyalgan injections?

Synsvisc is a brand name and has the same main ingredient (if you can call it that)  as Hyalgan Injections. Another brand I think is Euflexxa. They are called jelly injections since it is derived from rooster combs oddly enough. According to the physician assistant who submitted the article below, it works particularly well for arthritic knees. About 75% of the patients he treats in his office.

Look for the review part of this review listing below for Jonny's opinion. I don't say it as well as the PA. Hope this helps.

Mark
I posted the previous thread regarding synvisc one injections. This Tuesday will be four weeks since I had the injection. After the first week my knee got sore as hell. Took about a week for the sorness to subside. The third week was a continuous steady improvement. I have no discomfort swimming or biking and this past Friday I started working on the treadmill. Today I did a 15 mile ride got off the bike and ran about 1/2 mile. I'm begining to feel confident it may work. Good luck.

Glad to hear that the injections are helping you.  I am considering all my options right now.  I have had one cortizone injection so far.  Knee feels a little sore after running, but after a couple of months off from any "real" running, I am glad just to be able to do some.  Good luck to you!
