Swim
  • 38m 16s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 33s / 100 meters
Comments:

A little bit faster than my last race but swimming is obviously still my weak point. Huge area for improvement over the rest of the year and into next season.
Transition 1
  • 03m 19s
Comments:

There was a bit of a run from the lake to the transition area. Maybe 200-300M or so. Most of the way was through the grass so it was easy on the feet.
Bike
  • 1h 12m 29s
  • 40 kms
  • 33.11 km/hr
Comments:

I would have like to have done a bit better in the final 5K of the bike but I just didn't have it in my legs. Overall I was happy with my bike time on this challenging course.
Transition 2
  • 00m 43s
Run
  • 44m 5s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 25s  min/km
Comments:

I was quite happy with my run. My knees were a bit sore getting off the bike after the tough hill at the end of the bike but I was able to get loosened up in the first mile or so. Felt strong throughout the run and was able to make up some nice time that I gave up in my swim.

Was making decent time until the final 5K. It seemed like the rest of the way was uphill including one killer hill in the final 1 or 2K. Made for a tough start to the run.

Hi conwayan, great job, especially #1 in AG for that run!!! I was there too. That run was really rough for me after that bike course which left me dead. What a beatiful day, though. We couldn't ask for a better day for a tri race. That was my first Oly tri and I learned quite a bit. Although I finished 2 (out of 4) in AG, I wasn't too happy with my time. There are tons of things I could improve! One of which is, run after bike. Maybe you can share some secrets

It was a perfect day for racing. Congrats on your first olympic! During training I always try to run for at least 15 minutes or so after any biking that I do just to get the legs used to switching from one sport to the other. But the run was certainly difficult after that bike course. Those hills definitely took a toll on my legs.
