Total Time = 2h 46m 4s
Overall Rank = 181/342
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 6/11
Pre-race routine:

Just got everything set up.
Event warmup:

No time for warmup, due to long line for the bathrooms.
Swim
  • 30m 22s
  • 1490 yards
  • 02m 02s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt really good about my swim. I thought it felt faster than my time, but I am not complaining. It is a few seconds faster than my wetsuit time the last time I did an Olympic race, so who cares. The blurry vision was a little weird, but it cleared as I started running into transtion
What would you do differently?:

Figure out my goggles. If they leak I can't see. Waste time to fix.
Transition 1
  • 01m 38s
Comments:

This is my fastest T1 time ever I believe, so although it may be slow. I'm excited.
What would you do differently?:

I might try no socks. The ones I wore were too thick anyway and started to bunch.
Bike
  • 1h 13m 53s
  • 25.5 miles
  • 20.71 mile/hr
Comments:

Luckily with a headwind out and back its a tail wind coming the other way. Kind of evened out. Except into the headwind I might have used my legs more than I would have with out it.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Ride more. Make sure my aerobottle doesn't have dishsoap in it. I could just be paranoid.
Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

Again one of my fastest T times ever. It'll come slowly but surely.
What would you do differently?:

I'd have to think about it. Quick ties maybe and no socks.
Run
  • 58m 55s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs decided not to work today. In fact they told me exactly what I could do with myself by not responding to anything. In fact I believe there comments had a lot to do with telling me I was nuts. Its the slowest I've ever run a 10K. I think it has to do with me recovering from Buffalo Springs, who knows. But they haven't forgiven me for BSL yet that's for sure. Hopefully by NAGC my relationship with my legs will be back on track. I started going to the chiropractor for my hips two weeks ago because they have been bothering me who knows that might have had something to do with it.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I'm tired of whining about it. I can't be 100% everyday of my life.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk& eat

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I'm not going to list the obvious it might bore you.

Event comments:

The race was well run, there were tons of helpful friendly volunteers, it was very timely, but I'm always going to be the person looking for more than bannanas at the end of the race(I'm exaggerating, I think there were bagels too). Also some of the drink stations didn't have gatorade. I would have like some. I do have to throw in that they had very cool finisher plastic mugs that are closer to the size of jugs than mugs.

Side notes: I love racing.

Nice race! I noticed the gasoline in the water too. It was when I went to breath and one of those choppy little waves filled my mouth instead of air. Looks like you were 1st in your age group on the bike. You can certainly be proud of that, even if your legs weren't cooperating on the run. My body seemed like it had been unhappy with me for the entire 3 weeks since BSLT. Good luck at NAGC.

I just noticed how close our times were. Our swims were almost identical to the second. You had me by a little over a minute on the bike and then I had you by a little over 2 minutes on the run. Where you really made a difference was in your transitions. Your total transition times were over 2 minutes faster than mine. If I had your T times and hadn't stopped to use a facility on the run I probably would have moved up 3 or 4 spots in my age group. So great job on your transitions.
