Subject: swim time concern
What is an average swim time for .5 mile?? In the Sprint Program it lists times between 8 - 15 min from best to worst (including ages up to 70!!!). I can't get below 17min in a 25m pool. I'm in pretty good shape and can complete the other legs of a sprint distance in the middle of the time brackets listed in the program. I can breath alternately and swim freestyle for 30 min at 75% effort. Are these times off or am I just slow??

i took those times for a sprint tri near me....let me rustle up some more stats...don't worry  - maybe i made the mistake or their were a lot of experienced people there and no beginners.

Subject: oh my gosh!!!

i screwed up...i was looking at a 400yard swim sprint tri for the 5-15minutes number.

i just looked up a 1/2 mile (880yards) and it's 10-35 minute spread!!! WHOOPS!!!!  i will change that. sorry.

(i really did that to get u all training harder on whats considered the 'weakest' event   )
