Run
Comments: I felt like I paced this one pretty well. I stayed fairly consistent. I might have gone out a little fast... When I passed the 1 mile mark I saw a guy looking at his watch so I asked him what it said: "8:30" I don't know where he started so that could have been a little faster or slower than "actual" for me but it felt about right. The run through the cemetery was really nice and I thought the course was great. My glasses kept fogging up so I'd put them up on my foreead for a while. Luckily I only need them for fine detail so I wasn't bumbling around blind. As we got to the final climb up towards the train tracks and the final stretch, I was hurting pretty bad. I just kept at it. When everything flattened out I felt like I had a little kick left so I sped up. I misjudged the distance back to the finish so my "kick" didn't last long and I faded again. I felt like I didn't have much left when I crossed the line, so I was pleased with that. I was a little disappoined to see that the clock time was 36:45.... I figured that put me at around 36 mins flat. I was surprised to see the results of 35:14. Much more palatable for me. Overall, this was a nice race and I'll be back the next time I'm in FW for Turkey Day. What would you do differently?: More Hill training! Post race
Warm down: Walk inside and get a drink of water. Stare at the turkey for a minute and figure out it was real! What limited your ability to perform faster: not enough hill training. Last updated: 2010-09-22 12:00 AM
