Pre-race routine:

Said a pray, ate a bananna, tried not to get too excited at my first Tri
Event warmup:

Ran to jeep to look for my pink swim cap. I could not find it but luckily the registration booth had a box full.
Swim
  • 15m 48s
  • 500 meters
  • 03m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

I really like my breathing, when I got out of lake I was not gasping. I did not swim straight, I kept swimming to right.
Transition 1
  • 03m 2s
What would you do differently?:

I think I could cut my transition time a little by trying out those quick pull laces.
Bike
  • 43m 18s
  • 20 kms
  • 27.71 km/hr
Comments:

None, I was happy with bike part
Transition 2
  • 01m 38s
What would you do differently?:

I would not have tried to stretch out leg. (There was nothing wrong with leg in the first place, the legs were already stretched out, I do not know why I started to stretch out leg.) As soon as I did that I could feel my left hamstring tighted and cramp. I feel this is the main reason my leg started to cramp up at second mile marker during run.
Run
  • 30m 11s
  • 5 kms
  • 06m 02s  min/km
Comments:

I was not happy with run, some of it was mental, some of it was the cramp, I know I can do better on run. First mile was 8:45 (I looked at watch) second and third mile way tooo long.

What would you do differently?:

practice running more inclines (hard in arizona)
Post race
Warm down:

hugged wife, drank gatorade, ate oranges banannas and bagels
