Has anyone ever bought a watch from Amazon? I'm talking about Tag Heuer or similar brand. I can get the watch for 39% off retail. The closest local jeweler pricing is 15% off. I realize the Tag warranty will be replaced by Amazon's. Has anyone here had an experience either positive or negative with a watch or smilarly priced item from Amazon?

Depends who the seller is.  Amazon sells stuff direct, but there's also a lot of ebay style companies selling on there.  If it's sold by and shipped by Amazon I'd have no worries at all personally.

I'm not sure how the warranty works, but I would think TAG would still warranty the watch. (just a guess on my part).

It's Amazon, but they aren't an authorized reseller. This makes them a gray market vendor voiding TH's warranty. Amazon still will warrant the watch for 2 years. Just not that sure how good that warranty would be and if i would have issues further down the road.

Ah, gotcha.  In that case I don't have much for advice.
