New idea for a wine bottle torch set up (first prototype).  Basically for a table or patio or even a walkway if you wanted to light a walkway.  I clear coated the label on this wine bottle, so it could be used outside without losing the label.  Trying to help out a locally winery.   Laughing

Great stuff...  You should build a collection over the winter in your spare time (lol) to hit some craft shows next spring

Pardon my ignorance, but what did you use to clear coat the bottle?

We have a problem remembering wines that we enjoy and the top of my cabinets in the kitchen are currently bare.  I thought I'd start collecting bottles and clear coating the label (so that I can easily clean the bust off), but I'm not sure what to use.

THANKS!

Thanks.  I don't have much time to do this type of thing, so it is usually a weekend that I do things.  I wish I had enough things to take to a craft show, and I have been asked to go to some art festivals, so I need to get busy.  Wish I could make it a full time thing, instead of a few hours on the weekend.

You can use the Mod Podge that you can get at craft stores (Hobby Lobby).  I use clear spray can paint as most of my stuff is out door.  I am trying to stay away from Krylon brand paints as they have been the worst to use lately and the most expensive.  Almost like it is watered down and doesn't cover or seal.

very cool! If you don't mind a copy-cat could you post a picture of the holder w/o the wine bottle? also what type of metal did you use? iron or steel? did you finish it or leave it bare to weather? I'm thinking my wife would love a set of these and well I like welding so it sounds like a good project! Thanks for the info!
