Subject: In the spirit of...

the thread about how many countries you've been to,

How many countries have you lived, and while living there, raced in?

I've lived in 3 countries.

The USA - Grew up here

Israel - lived on a Kibbutz for 4 months

Japan - 4 years teaching English

I did a 10K in Israel and several races/triathlons in the USA.

I biked EVERYWHERE in Japan in all kinds of weather, (did not have a car) but never did a race there. Didn't really think about it.. Kind of bummed about that.

I've only lived a few places in the US and in Japan for four years.

Only raced in the US.

I do think it would be a blast to do some of those adventure races overseas somewhere though!

Have lived in two countries (U.S. & Bermuda), but have only raced in the U.S. (unless trying to drink all of the Bud Dry in the country before the next resupply ship arrives can be called 'racing').

How do we define "lived".  I think the OP had 4 months as her baseline.  In that case:

1) US

2) Mexico (4)

3) Guatemala (3)

4) Austria (Summers and Christmas Break during college)

5) Okinawa (4 months)

6) Guam (not a country, a territory of the US... 6 months- doesn't count)

6) Spain (4 months)

7) Kuwait (a few weeks- doesn't count)

7) Iraq (11 months)
