I saw this Politico story yesterday and was reading it with a WTF look on my face.  I guess it was supposed to be satire, but it was written in a way that didn't make it seem that obvious.  (maybe it was too believable)

Well apparently I wasn't the only one that didn't get it because several journalists thought it was real as well.  whoops

You have to read the end note as well -

"[Author’s note: Jonathan Swift did not really want Irish people to sell their children for food in 1729; George Orwell did not really want the clocks to strike thirteen in 1984; Paul Ryan, I am sure, calls Mitt Romney something more dignified than “Stench” and Microsoft did not invent PowerPoint as a means to euthanize cattle. At least I am pretty sure Microsoft didn’t.]"

Not very funny. And I don't even LIKE Ryan. The piece makes Romney's "airplanes should have windows" joke an absolute side splitter.

I could have missed it yesterday but I think they may have added that to the story today.  (It shows edited today on the story)  But I agree even knowing it's satire doesn't make it any funnier.

I liked the Romney camp calling Ryan "Gilligan."

If you are going to do satire, aren't you supposed to exaggerate or something to make your point.
