Q-tips.

Seriously.  How much can you cheap-out on a cotton swab?  Whoever made that decision should be strung up by their, uh, ears.  I would gladly pay twice as much for the good 'ol beefy Q-tips that had lots of cottony goodness on the end--so you never feel that pokey stick when you're enjoying one of the best feelings evah.

Got one?

I know, right! You go in there for a big ole ear potato and the damn stem folds like the French army!

I was really puzzled a few weeks ago when Premium Saltines came in a rectangular box and not a cube box. Heresey!

holy cow great thread.  Risk.  One of the greatest board game traditions ever...have any of you seen what they're churning out now and calling Risk?  They've got the cheapest of cheap plastic armies.  Back in the day (late '70's early '80's) the armies were thicker roman numerals.  Even the territory cards were a thicker gauge of paper.  The dice were even better!  The red dice were a clear glassy red...now they're cheap solid red plastic.

Sincerely, The Spirit of Andy Rooney.  Now get off my lawn!!!

Saltines jumped the shark when it became nigh-impossible to buy them in the "4-square" format that you had to break apart yourself.  And the 4-squares were grouped in 10's and wrapped in wax paper.

And where the hell did my box of "Mr. Salty" pretzels go?
