Subject: Zion National Park, UT - Mountain Biking

Any suggestions for trails at or near Zion National Park UT.

My wife and I are going up there next week and we thought about renting bikes for a little riding, but nothing too technical and not too much climbing, because the wife doesn't ride bikes much.

Zion so rocks!!! We went out there last year for a two week tour of national parks. We started with a quick stop (2 days) at Grand Canyon. Then 5 days on a houseboat on Lake Powell. From there we went a few days to Zion and on to Bryce Canyon. Zion was my favorite of the whole trip. We didn't do any mountain biking but surely enjoyed the hikes. Hidden Canyon was a great hike. Although coming down about killed us. We were running from a thunderstorm and came down much too fast, resulting in two sets of sore knees for a couple of days.

Only biking we did was on dual sport dirt bikes. Although the trails/roads would be great for mountainbiking. There is an outfitter behind the pizzaria/microbrew (always a good combination) that rents bikes, etc. and I'm sure that they will have maps and suggestions.
