Homeless

I’ve been reading about the homeless “crisis” in LA, SF, Seattle and I don’t get it. Seems to me to be a law enforcement issue. You put a tent up on the sidewalk and law enforcement should take it down, burn it and take you to jail. Then they put you in rehab or keep you locked up.

I guess that sounds cold hearted. I think this is mostly a mental health issue. What sane person would live like that. We have a downtown rescue mission here. You can go there to get help or just go for a meal or to spend the night. It’s entirely funded by private contributions. They have drug rehab and other counseling. Surely there are places like this in LA.

Having been a country redneck all my life I can’t imagine living on the street in the city. Give me a survival knife and take me to the woods and I will thrive.
