Finally, the race report is done and complete!
Before I get to that, I what to thank everyone who has taken part in my journey
(has it been 3 yrs??
) to Ironman. Many of you are getting this because of a family or friend relationship. Others like Rich & Michael, because your influence
(whether you knew it or not
) was integral to accomplishing my dream this year.
The biggest thank you goes out to my wife, Mel. What a trooper!! For three years, she has supported me and put up w/ my training and schedule. Without her love and support, none of this would have been possible. Now, I look forward to helping her to achieve her and OUR dreams!!
And Mom and Dad…Your support has always been there!! And I'm taking your advice and doing more biking next yearJ Unfortunately, I cannot take the title of the first "Bender" to do endurance sports. My dad is an ex-marathoner. Because of dual hip replacements, he can no longer compete. However, he is with me every step of the way when I race. This one was for you, Dad!
My race report can be found at my new and improved website
(Thanks Tracy!!!

See you on the road….Mike
