hey everybody. Im 23... 24 in april. I live in kansas city and have been debating on competing in triathlons for a while now. about 3 weeks ago i convinced myself in to doing it. I used to be a college and simi-pro baseball player. Then decided to get a real job. I still have a strong need for competitive events so I figured that Triathalons would be something that I could push my self to do and compete in. currentley I am 6'2" 230. my playing weight was 190. for the last year all that i have done is hit the gym. lift lift lift. and the last 3 months i put on 20lbs. bc in the winter im cardio'd out. plus its cold here in kansas. FEB 1st is the official start day of tri-training. When I was playing baseball i was in good running shape for some one of my size. My goal is to do sprints this season and then move up to Olimpic next year. there are a lot of general questions that i want to talk to some one about. If there is any one in KC that has some experience with nebys that would be great.

Welcome to BT!!

I'm not in the KC area but I did spend a week there one night.

This is a great site to get all the info you want and then some.

I am attaching a check list I use to make sure I don't forget something.

Good luck with your training and races.

Welcome! I'm a bit distant from KC (I'm in Manhattan), but still wanted to say hi.

I just started racing last year, so I'm afraid I have more questions than answers. Lots of folks here on BT are quite knowledgeable - feel free to ask any questions you have!

Maybe not all of the answers are here, but there are definitely enough to keep you busy.

I used to live in KC, now in Springfield.  There are some pretty good events there and even more in STL.

Log your training and inevitably someone will check up on you and hold you accountable.  In fact, crusevegas has already paid you a visit.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
