I am seeing differing opinions regarding the nutritional value of Potato bread versus Whole Wheat bread. In many cases the potato bread (at least Martins' brand) has more fiber and protein with less sugar than many commercial whole wheat brands.
Is this just splitting hairs or is there some other characteristic in wheat bread that makes it better for you?
i always buy the 100% whole wheat martin's potato bread. i don't know how different the 100% whole wheat version is from the regular martin's potato bread - but i love the stuff. it's the only bread i every buy. that and their little sandwich rolls.
I was always under the impression that it wasn't very "good" for you. My mom would never buy it for us when we were kids. Same with white bread. Any nutrition-folks out there have anything to say?
