Who has done the buzzards bay sprint before.  I cant figure out how the swim portion goes.  Do you walk out to the start or do you have to swim out?

I found this using Google in someone's blog:

The swim:
I’d only been in the water once since I broke my rib at Bayside so I was a little nervous. We were told that it was going to be a water start so we had to walk/swim out about 50 yards and then tread water. There were two waves three minutes apart in front of mine and I was starting to get cold waiting to go. Finally it was our time to enter the water and head out to the start buoys

I'll look for more but looks like it's a water start.

Use the swim out there as your warm up, and if you have a wetsuit it shouldn't be that hard to tread water.  Stay confident, and don't let this worry you.

I heard from a rep at Max (and went to their swim clinic last week for their title nine race this weekend) and they said the ocean swim is a little misleading in difficulty.  Yes, it is different than a pond but that it's in a chanel so if you swim a little to the left or right you'll be able to stand on sand bars.  They also said that the current does a great job of pushing you along so you're not fighting it.  I'm not sure if that helps but it put me at ease.
