Subject: How necessary is a taper when ......So how necessary is a taper before a HIM or Long Course DU when your training leading up to it has been sporadic, not very intense for the most part and way short of the volume you wished you had going into it? Or maybe the better question is how long should it be? Normally I would target 2 weeks but I don't know if I really have anything to taper from. My 2 week window would start Monday but I really would like to get in 2 more long runs and 2 more long rides. I have thoughts of just doing the runs and rides and making the week before the race a "recovery" type week til race day but just wanted to get some other folks opinions. Thanks |
