Subject: Maryland Training Help

I am going to be living in Arnold Maryland for the next month.  (I drive up with my family tomorrow)  During this month I have 4 century rides to complete among other things preparing for IMFL.  Do you have any suggestions?  Any known group rides? Favorite rides?  Anything.  When I lived there before I wasn't into tri's so i'm pretty lost.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.

One more Q.  Any tri-stores?  Or bike stores that stock tri gear?  Recommended bike shops?  Only asking because I dig checking out stores and you never know when you're going to need something fixed.

Thanks,

 Chris

Chris,

There is a Bike Doctor in Arnold that has started catering to triathletes the last few years.

You might also want to check out the Annapolis Tri club:

or The Annapolis Bicycle Club:

Alos Bike Doctor Annapolis, who has a group ride on a different night than the Arnold store. I think the Annapolis ride is longer.

Tri/bike stores I can think of:  Tri-Speed Sports in Timonium, Bonzai Sports in Northern Virginia (both are tri stores), and Princeton Sports in Columbia carries a lot of tri stuff because the Mid-Maryland Triathlon Club meets there and they are a sponsor.

Rides:  a lot of people I know who do flat Ironman races head over to the Eastern Shore and do a double loop of the Eagleman 70.3 course.  You can find maps on the Columbia Triathlon website (www.tricolumbia.org).  Not a lot of flat on this side of the bridge, unfortunately.
