IMKY - Can I vent for a sec?

Ok.  Can I vent for a sec?

Something happened on the bike course that I just have to get off my chest...

A FNG (must have been a FNG because a veteran wouldn't have said this) said something that kinda pissed me off....even though it shouldn't have.

As everyone knows, IMKY is a TT start so the first 30 miles or so of the bike everyong is josteling around and slower cyclists are falling back and faster cyclists are moving up the field.

Well, at about mile 10ish, as tons of cyclists are moving up the field this FNG yells at us cyclists (and I quote him) moving up to "slow down you guys, this is a 112 mile ride".

Seriously, can you believe that this dumass said that?  I was flabbergasted.  I couldn't believe my ears.  A guy in a RACE (yes, Ironman is a race by the way Mr. Slow Down) is telling fellow competitors to slow down and also telling competitors how far the ride is?  WTF?

I have no idea why it irked me so much, but when I heard it I promptly retorted as loud as I could (as I was passing him):

"Holy #*&, this is a 112 mile bike???  Are you serious??  No one told me it was 112 miles.  Thank you so much, I had no idea!"

Several cyclists around me chuckled and smiled at my comment back to him...silently thanking me.

Ok...I've vented and feel better now.
