Subject: Cross-training chores?
This past weekend, I spent three hours sawing and chopping wood.  A great arm/back workout that (from the feel of it) hit some of the same muscles as swimming!  Any other good chores or home improvement tasks for cross training?  Raking?  Speed-mowing?

I was thinking the same thing

Twice a week I carry two 5 gal jugs of bottled water (1 in each hand) up 44 stairs. Great lower body workout.

We live on a river's edge with a 30 foot steep drop off the back of our property to a flood plane. Until I quit cutting the grass down to the river's edge a couple of years ago, I had an old beater larnmower with ropes tied to it that I would lower down the hill and hand-over-hand pull it back up. Repeat about 100 times for a great upper body workout.

I stacked 10 tons of hay earlier this summer. That is pretty much a total body workout. If anyone is interested, I have about 4 tons that got thrown in the barn because it started to rain and it needs to be restacked. I won't even charge you for the workout and I'll stand there and remind you to lift with your knees!
