Subject: RE: half marathon 1 week after sprint tri?acueva - 2008-10-05 6:51 PM I am new to triathlons and running is my best of the three. I am currently running 20-25 miles a week and am planning to do a half marathon in January. The event I'm interested in happens to be one week after my first ever sprint tri. What do you think? Bad idea? Not ever doing a tri, I am not sure how my recovery will be. I think I'll have enough time to rest, but I want your opinion! I'm in a similar boat... I just finished my first sprint tri (turned into a du because of a cancelled swim) a week ago and am running a half marathon next week. The sprint tri was actually shorter than the long run I had planned for that day, so it really was a non-issue. And my training schedule called for a 12-mile run the week prior to race day, which I did, so I don't think a sprint tri will screw you up at all. Just my newbie opinion. |
