I'm head there for work on Sat. and was wondering of some good places to run and places to avoid  (ex. high crime areas, I will be running by myself) I'm staying at the Embassy Suites at San Diego Bay if that helps.

 Thanks in advance!

there are trails that follow the bay...very safe during day...not sure about late hours!

you can also head to PB (Pacific Beach) or Mission Beach and hit the trail that follows the ocean and circles Mission Bay....only bikes, skaters, walkers and joggers....or if you are one of those beach runners the beach runs are fabulous...nice hard packed sand along the water side...or you can hit the soft sand near the seawall....my dd lives in San Diego...and I love to visit! good luck! Embassy Suites will have a conceirge that should be able to give you other local trails.....

when i'm in SD, i usually go for a run along the embarcadero near the seaport village and cruise terminal.  i'm not sure how to get there from the embassy suites, but it shouldn't be too far.  it does get a bit busy in this area though if you don't get an early start.

x2 I used to run this all the time, very flat and pretty safe during the day (especially on the weekends) You're right on the water front run along the water and harbor blvd. If you're looking for something interesting to do take the ferry across to Coronado and run to the Silver Strand , it's flat and great views of the open ocean.

x3.  The Embassy Suites, is basically on the embarcadero, maybe a block or two west, but you can see if from your room if you are up high enough.  I run the embarcadero all the time and it is about 4+ miles one way, you can't get lost it's a straight path.  You end up going past the cruise terminal, airport, and Spanish Landing.  It's a nice run with lots of things to look at during the run.
