I just wanted to throw this out there for any of the local NJ crew who may be running NY next weekend (11/2). If you're in the area (I'm in Monmouth County), a few of us will be getting together over the next few days to put the finishing touches on our plan(s).

Anyway, the last key workouts will be:

Thursday:
10 miles EASY in/around Holmdel Park + 4 miles on the track @ MP (Marathon Pace) + 1 mile c/d

Saturday/Sunday: (Originally had this set for Sunday but may move to Sat based on forecast)
Again in Holmdel, 6 miles EASY + 3 x 1 mile at T-pace w/ 60sec recovery + 1 mile c/d

If anyone is interesting in hooking up for these, please drop a response to this thread or just shoot me an e-mail ([email protected]).

Best of luck to those racing!

Brian, can you define 10 miles "EASY"?

Not doing NYC, but could use the workout... I've totally slacked since JerseyMan and need to get back on track.

Chris,

Sorry for the delay, just hopped back online. I'm pretty open to whatever pace you want to go for the easy portion. Generally my z1 pace is ~7:30/:45 pace, but I'm open to speed-up or slow-down to whatever you'd like to do. I'd honestly prefer to be no faster than 7:15's on the easy miles & no slower than 8:45/9's as my gait starts to get a little 'off' going slower than that.

I'm a little more of a stickler w/ the MP (Marathon Paced) miles & will be right at 6:25/:30 pace for those.

Anyway, shoot me an e-mail if you'd like to hook-up for any of it as I'll be doing loops in/around Holmdel Park, so if you want to do more/less, that's great.

So was it for this Thursday (tomorrow?) What time?

My pace for long runs is more like between 9-10min.... I might push harder for a lap with you, and then you just continue at your pace... I was only looking for about 6 miles.

Chris,

Misery love company & I have a little flexibility w/ regards to time tomorrow (10/23), so let me know what may work for you. The earliest I could do is a 9:30AM start & I'd like to be finished by 2:30PM (so we're off the track before the HS kids get on it).

My plan is to do a loop (5K) in the park, grab a gel & head out for a 5.5mi loop around the park on the roads (grab another gel) & then run to the track (~1mi away). I'll then do the 4 MP'd miles & jog back. So if you want to start after the 5K loop to shorten it up a bit, that's fine.

Shoot me an e-mail if this works for you (I may not be back on BT in the AM, but will have my cell & Blackberry on me). Hope to connect.
