Subject: Aegis T2 available to rent for 2009 racing seasonHey Mainers,
I have a tri bike for rent this year. It is a 2006 silver 56cm Aegis T2 full carbon handmade in Maine superbike. It would fit riders from 5'10 to 6'1. It has a 650c HED3 tri spoke rear carbon wheel and a 58mm rim HED carbon front. 10 speed Dura Ace components. Profile Design T2+ aerobars, Terry Fly saddle (super comfortable ). Aero carbon seatpost. FSA SL-K carbon crankset. Continental Grand Prix 4000 clinchers. If that description does not give you an impression of how amazing this bike is, come to Freeport and see it/ride it. I rode an Aegis T2 bike (not this bike ) last year and finished 4th (of 40 ) in my age group in the bike leg at Lobsterman. In the Maine time trial series I rode my T2 at 25mph pretty consistently. It's quite a bike and really does help your run. You can reach me at 865-0752.
Terms:
$450 for a 4 month period. Paid upfront. This is really an incredible deal. From what I can tell renting a racing bike of this caliber would be something like $200 for a race weekend alone!
What about damage? Sure there may be a tip-over or a scratch in the racks. I can deal with small scatches as I have touch up paint and knowledge of frame repair so it does not rock me. We can negotiate damage costs if its a nasty 'down to the carbon' digger.
What about an accident that ruins the bike? That would be a heck of an accident, but if the frame gets damaged beyond repair you'll get to be the permanent owner of the frameset for $500. In fact you can buy the bike ($1500 complete ) from me at anytime during the rental period. (The rental fee is already applied to those costs ). Or you can just buy the bike outright for $1950 which is still a deal considering the frameset alone is $3000 new.
